KWAHS Registrar Accepted into Johns Hopkins University

Our registrar Jennifer Krumfolz (pictured right) has been accepted into the Master’s Degree program in museum studies at Johns Hopkins University. This is a new online program that Johns Hopkins has created within the last 2 years. All online classes are offered to allow maximum flexibility for students. Course content is delivered mainly via text notes, voice-over PowerPoint, streaming video, and threaded discussions to provide a connection between students and faculty. Classes are kept small to encourage active community building among students and to allow for direct access to faculty. Nine online classes and one onsite seminar are required to complete the M.A. degree in Museum Studies.
“We are delighted that Jennifer will be able to continue her graduate work and still be here with us to work on KWAHS’ historical collections. Her course work will provide cutting edge collection management training to improve our digital database” said Claudia Pennington, Executive Director (pictured left).
The aim of this program is to provide a perspective on the theory and practice of museums in a changing social and political environment for current and future museum professionals. It emphasizes the role of technology as a pervasive aspect in today's museum, examines new models of education, exhibition, and business strategies, and explores the role of the museum as an agent of social change.
