Art & Historical Society Presents: "Listening To Our Ancestors" An Exhibition of the Works of Mario Sanchez

The Key West Art & Historical Society is opening a major exhibition of the work of Key West's internationally recognized folk artist Mario Sanchez. The exhibit is comprised of works from private and public collections, many of which have never been on public display before this show. The exhibition is being funded in part by the Dogwood Foundation with additional support from the Gallery on Greene, Key West, FL.
The exhibit will open will a Gala Preview Party this Saturday, March 19th from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the Museum of Art & History at the Custom House, 281 Front Street. The cost is $25 and attendees are encouraged to come attired as one of Mario's characters from his wood carvings. The Preview Party will feature hors d'oeuvres from Antonia's restaurant, open bar, comparsa dancers, prizes for best costume and a sneak peak of the Mario Sanchez exhibition in the Dogwood Gallery on the 2nd floor of the museum.
