Monroe County Mayor Sonny McCoy, left, presided at the ribbon cutting ceremony at the Key West Lighthouse and Keepers Quarters Saturday. The lighthouse has added two rooms of activities for children, including a televised version of a play students created on the women lighthouse keepers of Key West. McCoy, in his speech, told Claudia Pennington, CEO of the Key West Art and Historical Society, and those gathered that the lighthouse held special meaning for him because he met his future wife Merili Hilton while she lived on the property as a child.
