Dining out can support kids’ cultural programs

Three local restaurants are offering a convenient and delicious way to contribute to the children’s programs of the Key West Art & Historical Society.
Members of the Key West Art & Historical Society and others who attend an opening of one of this season’s eight Artists — In Season exhibitions will have 15 percent of their dinner checks donated to the Society when they dine after the reception at Antonia’s Regional Italian Cuisine, Nicola Seafood at the Hyatt Key West Resort & Marina or Flagler’s at the Wyndham Casa Marina Resort.
“Diners need only to present the wait staff with their invitation postcard or membership card,” explained John Giuliano, the society’s director of development.
In addition, each participating restaurant will provide the hors d’oeuvres at one of the art openings during 2004-2005 season at the Key West Museum of Art & History beginning with Antonia’s on Thursday, Oct. 14, with the joint opening of photography by Dr. Lynne Bentley-Kemp and artwork by Jo Cooper at the Key West Museum of Art & History at the Custom House.
We are calling it our Dinner for the Arts program and think it will be a great way for both restaurants and museum patrons to support the Society’s cultural programs for kids, including the annual KWAHS summer art camp,” Giuliano said. "We hope that more restaurants will commit to the program.
