Carolyn Remmey is a participating guest appraiser on television's popular Antiques Roadshow and the President of Remmey Antiques and Fine Art Appraisers, Auctioneers, & Advisors in New Vernon, NJ. She is also a contributing writer for many antiques publications, including: Antiques Guide, Fifty Plus, Antiques Roadshow Insider, Arts and Antiques, and Garden State Woman. Remmey will be coming to Key West to participate in the first annual Antiques Show & Sale to be held February 25th from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm and on the 26th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at Fort East Martello Museum & Gardens. The general admission is $5.00 per person. Those who wish may bring an item for Ms. Remmey to appraise between the hours of 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm on both days of the Show & Sale. Appraisal reservations are strongly recommended and may be obtained by calling Gerri Sidoti at 305-295-6616 ext. 12. An additional nominal fee of $20.00 will be charged for the appraisal and Ms. Remmey will generously donate the money generated to the Key West Art & Historical Society. She is encouraging people to bring jewelry, stamps, coins, ephemera, paintings, prints, porcelain, glass, furniture, textiles, and more. The Show & Sale will actually kick off the night of the 24th, when the Key West Art & Historical Society will present a lavish Gala Preview Party at Fort East Martello from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The Preview Party and the Show & Sale are sponsored by Prudential Knight - Keyside Properties and have received additional support from Island City Tile; Kitchens of Key West; Inc.; Carlos O. Rojas, AIA, Architecture & Design; Schroeder Builders, and Sheldrake, Inc. Those attending the Gala Preview Party will be the first to view and have the opportunity to purchase antiques from around the U.S. while enjoying sumptuous hors d'oeuvres, open bar and festive music. This is the first antique show to be held in the Florida Keys and Fort East Martello Museum & Gardens on A1A adjacent to the Key West International Airport is an ideal venue. The $75.00 Gala Preview Party tickets may be purchased at all three Society Museum Stores, on-line at www.kwahs.com, or by calling 305-295-6616 ext. 12 or 29. There are also Founding Benefactor Tickets available for $500.00 per couple. All proceeds will benefit the programs and exhibitions of the Key West Art & Historical Society. The Key West Art & Historical Society is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, presenting, and ensuring the future of the art and history of the Florida Keys. The Society manages Fort East Martello Museum & Gardens, Key West Lighthouse & Keeper's Quarters Museum, and the Key West Museum of Art & History at the Custom House.
