Thank You to Dogwood Foundation

A very large crane removed the shattered flag mast from the very highest point atop the Custom House. The mast was taken down because it swayed in the strong winds of summer storms and brought buckets of water through the roof. A generous donation from the Dogwood Foundation allowed the removal of the mast and the patching of the roof to safeguard KWAHS's collections and the Custom House Museum Building.
The State of Florida allowed the removal of the damaged mast and asked KWAHS to study it for possible restoration and reinstallation at a future date.
