New Feature on KWAHS website!
KWAHS has added a new feature to its website. Every week a Keys history item will debut on our new blog - "Florida Keys History This Week." Access to our blog will be in the top right corner of our website - www.kwahs.org. History items will be compiled by Tom Hambright, Monore County Historian. Please check the site every week and if you would like to add comments just click on the word comments at the end of any of the articles. We love feedback.

Conch Rustlers' Ball To Be Held
at Fort East Martello Museum

Saturday, May 19, 2007, will be the 4th Annual American Cancer Society's Conch Rustlers' Ball at the Fort East Martello. Participants are asked to dress in their own verison of a Conch Rustler - be it a traditional western characer or their own version of a tropical cowboy or girl. The fun starts at 6:00 pm with a VIP Reception and Gaming, and then dinner and dancing at 8:00 pm. A live auction will be featured also. Help the American Cancer Society in their fight against cancer. Your dollars help fund more cancer research than any other organization other than the federal fovernment. The American Cancer Society has funded 40 Nobel Prize winners who have helped make signigicant progress towards finding a cure. The American Cancer society provides support, programs and services to cancer patients and their families in the Keys, and crucial early detection and prevention programs for the entire communtiy. Summer art activities for your children.Beginning June 4th through July 28th 2007, the Key West Art and Historical Society is offering eight weeks of unique art classes for children age 7 through 14 years. All classes will take place at Fort East Martello Museum. To learn more CLICK HERE
