The Dogwood Foundation has again awarded a generous grant to help the Custom House Museum survive another hurricane season. We will finally be able to remove the shattered flag hole and repair the roof to keep our building and our collections safe and dry.

KWAHS TOPS GRANT SCORES
New exhibition plans at Fort East Martello Museum received the highest score in the State of Florida at the recent Division of Historical Resources Grants Review in Tallahassee. KWAHS also received the highest scores from the Monroe County Tourist Development Council for Cultural Event Funding.

Photography instructor Jodell Roberts teaches pinhole photography to ArtCamp 2007 students. The photos created will be displayed in the Summer ArtCamp07 exhibit.

Record Number of Art Scholarships in ArtCamp 2007

This year ArtCamp 2007 will provide a record number of scholarships to allow more children to participate in Monroe County’s oldest summer art activity program. We are especially grateful to the Woodruff Charitable Trust, The Atlantic Foundation and the Uh-Oh Sisters Fund. Local contributions from Keys Energy Services; TIB Bank of the Keys; The Kids Fund; The Craig Company; Barker Services Inc.; Waterfront Market; Blue Heaven Restaurant; Harpoon Harry's Restaurant; and the Key West Cultural Preservation Society, will provide eight weeks of programming for young artists. Beginning June 11th through July 28th 2007, unique art classes will be offered for children, ages 7 through 14 years. All classes will take place at Fort East Martello Museum.
