Best Florida Artist Exhibits in Best Renovated Historical Building in Florida. Florida Monthly magazine has honored the Custom House in Key West in its Best of Florida Hall of Fame, again. “We were recognized as the best renovated historical building in Florida,” Claudia Pennington, CEO of the Key West Art and Historical Society, said. “And, Clyde Butcher has been honored by the magazine as the best Florida artist for the seventh time.” In 1999 and 2005, the museum also received the honors for its renovation program for the historic building. “People can now come in and visit what the magazine calls the ‘best renovated historical building in Florida’ and, at the same time, see an exhibit by Clyde Butcher, the artist it calls the ‘best Florida artist,”’ Pennington said. “Only in Key West can you do that.” |
