KWAHS ArtCamp

Week 5 of ARTCAMP moves from the classroom to the gallery! A group of 9 & 10 year olds will be collaborating on an installation art piece, transforming the gallery space from floor to ceiling with the theme--"The Fragile Environment and You". Their field trip takes them to the Eco Discovery Center and Ft. Zachary Taylor. The generous sponsor for this week of ARTCAMP is The Kids Fund.

The 3rd week of ARTCAMP-ers studied Stanley Papio's Pop Art--and just like the junkyard sculptor used recycled and found objects for their creations. This group of 7 and 8 year olds also did Seascape Gyotuka (Japanese for fish print) and made festive 4th of July hats. They will wrap up their fun-filled and creative week with a trip on the Discovery Glass Bottom Boat.
